From understanding the cultural exchange benefits to navigating visa requirements and finding the perfect host family, we’ve got you covered. Whether you are new to the concept or seeking in-depth guidance, this article is your go-to resource for all things Au Pair in Europe.

Understanding the Au Pair Experience

Discover the transformative Au Pair experience, a unique opportunity for cultural exchange and personal growth. As an Au Pair, you will live with a host family in Europe for a maximum of one year (it might potentially be up to two years for certain countries). You will also receive pocket money, free room and board provided by the host family in exchange for childcare assistance. Beyond your Au Pair duties, you will immerse yourself in the local culture, connect with new friends, and mostly have flexibility to travel. Embrace the opportunity to gain experience and bond with children as you become a part of a new whole family.

Here are almost all the requirements for Au Pairing:

  • You are 18 to 25 years old.
  • You love kids and have some experience in childcare.
  • You have never been married and have no children.
  • You want to stay in the Au Pair country for minimum 3 to maximum 24 months.
  • You speak a sufficient level of English and in some cases proficiency in the mother language of the country may be required. (such as German)

What should you expect?

  • No program fee
  • Holiday days (can change between two to six weeks for a 12-month tenure)
  • 1-2 full days off minimum a week
  • Work schedule between 20 to 40 hours weekly
  • Pocket money (can range between €‎250 to €‎800)
  • Your own private room and board
  • Language and academy courses
  • Health insurance
